Week 10

There is not much time left in the session to complete your project, so it is a good time to think about what needs to be done. What is left to do? What challenges have you faced? Will you be able to meet your timeline for completion? Why or why not? Will you be able to implement? Evaluate? When I started working on my Canvas course I went full speed, wanting to avoid getting panicky in the last few weeks of the semester.  I spent the better part of two weeks working on the course just about every day.  In the last couple of weeks, I have made minor changes to my course, corrections, etc.  I feel that at this point, my course is about 90% completed so I don’t believe I will have any trouble meeting the timeline.  What Is Left To Do I need to review my all of my discussion board items and clean them up a bit.  I wanted to take some time away from my course so that I can come in with a fresh perspective.  I tend to become blind to problems with my work...

Week 8 Blog - Peer Review Feedback

What feedback have you received and what have you done as a result? Why? My partner reviewed my course and she was able to point out a couple of things that didn’t make sense and that needed to be removed from my course content.  She also suggested I use a different picture for my course image, one of a half-marathon starting/finishing line.  Although I did consider her suggestion, I decided to keep the current image with the simple 13.1 for a couple of reasons.  One, anyone wanting to run a half-marathon will recognize the 13.1 as the half-marathon distance and two because my course would not be attached to a specific half-marathon.  My partner also gave me some positive feedback.  She mentioned she liked that I included the Using Canvas page for students who would be new to this environment.  She also likes that I included the Etiquette page.  She didn’t suggest any changes to my module structure and that makes me happy as I spent a long t...

Week 7 Blog - Activity 3

You have completed a rough version of ½ of your full course now. Have you had to revise your design based on the structure of the LMS? How well is the design model working for you? Since week 5, when I first started developing my course in Canvas, I have changed my course structure many, many times.  At the beginning of week 5, I had a specific structure of the sequence of the items in the module but then on week 6, I rearranged everything to add my weekly learning objectives.  In week 7, I have changed the structure again, trying to make the structure flow a bit better.  As a student, I have a preference as to how my courses are structured.  I like to do the assignments first, then the quizzes, and at the end any blog or discussion board posts.  I feel it makes more sense to do the same with my course.  As I have added more assignments, links, and blogs, I have continued to make changes not only to the course but also to the syllabus.  Goin...
